Christmas carol: Silver Bells
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks.
Dressed in holiday style
In the air There's a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing, People passing
Meeting smile after smile
And on ev'ry street corner you'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day
Strings of street lights
Even stop lights
Blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush
home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch
See the kids bunch
This is Santa's big scene
And above all this bustle
You'll hear Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day.

A Place to Describe: Edimburgh
I've chosen Edimburgh because I visited this city the last summer. It is special for me because I enjoyed a lot this city.
Edimburgh is a city in the central Scotland. It is in the North Sea coast. Scotland is a UK territory, in the north of this country. Its population was 477,660 people in 2009. There, the people was very kind and welcoming. People say that in the north of the UK the people are kinder than in the south. I think that's true.
It is an active and busy city but quiet too. The city centre is very large, busy and noisy, because there is too much people walking in its streets. And in the outskirts, the atmosphere is very quiet. I think all the city is clean, but it isn't very colourful, because there rains a lot and the skies are always grey.
Walking by the city centre, you could listen in the main street deafening sounds of the big quantity of buses that was there. In the centre streets, you could listen loud sounds of the shops and people playing bagpipes, the national instrument of Scotland. And in the parks, you could listen birds, people talking and trains going to the central station.
The smells in Edimburgh are very diferent. There you can smell rain lots of times and grass in the parks, cemeteries and hills. In its beach (Portobello beach), there is a smell of sea and fish. The pubs smell to beer and hamburgers, and the cathedrals and churches smell like pieces of antique furniture.
There, you can visit lots of places. Like Edimburgh castle, a very well known castle which is very ancient and historical and has got wonderful sights. Like its interior hills, there are seven in Edinburgh and are very green. You can also visit the underground tunnels of the city, but you have to go on a tour compulsorily. And all its parks, like Hollyrood Park, where the Queen Elizabeth stayed when she went to Edimburgh. In the city centre, there are curious statues and buildings to see.
There are a lot of shops in the main street, Princes Street, and also in the Royal Mile. In the city port, there is a very big commercial store, Ocean Terminal.
